They appear to be aluminum so is there a bath you can etch them perfect in or good old fashion elbow grease?

You could use a SOS pad. That will clean them up nicely. Then a aluminum polish should brighten them up smile

I blast mine with glass beads and powder coat them silver or gold and the wife paints the numbers black for me, she acutally does.

I use glass beads with about 40 psi and they turn out great. Wont warp if you use glass beads, don't try to use sand or anything else on them as they will become a tangled mess, experienced that. LOL
