Just came home with a Wayne 70. Lots of rust but I think I can do a good job restoring it. I would appreciate any suggestions on what brand I should restore it to. Please don't suggest Sinclair as I already have a Sinclair Dino. Thanks. BTW I paid $550 for it.

...Fire-Chief or Sky-Chief would be a logical choice - Texaco used those pumps, the signs would be easy enough to find, and you could even use original ad glass and globe if you looked a little...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Here is the one I just Restored... Look through all the different part vendors books at all the different Globes and Decals that they offer and Go from there. Check out T-way's site he has alot of different Brands of Globes and a Lot of different Decals available and he is easy to Deal with. http://www.t-waysgraphics.com/index.html

I'm partial to the independent oil companies. Some of the ones you don't see that often have great colors and graphics and stand out a little better(I think) from the regular Shell, Texaco. Mobil etc, etc. But you will always be safe with a nice clean major brand. I have one in Mobil bright red and it looks great on that pump.

I have several Sinclair pumps. I call them Sinclair pumps because they have a Sinclair globe and a decal or two on them. They are red and white. Swap out the globe and decal and I can make them into Texaco or Mobil, among others. If you plan on selling them some day, a lot can be said for a red and white pump.

I agree with most people here do what you like its your pump. But I have to admit Jasons husky is one of nicest looking wayne 70's i have ever seen. Most people do the norm and his husky really stands out for me.
