Saved from the scrap pile. I plan on putting a pole and a porcelain light on top.I have both green and red porcelain lights. I see red and green paint remnants on the base. I am leaning towards green base and pole and red light. What color do you guys think it was originally??? Was it even for a light. Thanks!

The pictures really make it appear like brass or bronze. Sorry to keep kicking the dead horse. I am glad you saved it. I have no idea what the original color would be. I like your idea of the green base and red light although it would make an awesome base for a parking meter.

I have seen a similar but different base sort of like this. It was repainted green with the lettering highlited. It was being used as an inside lite pole in a collection. Do not recall ever seeing a picture of an original one being used. Would look good in my collection.

Wes,

Not sure if this is applicable. I have a Square base for a pole embossed with the Conoco triangle logo (they are somewhat common) and it was used as a flag pole holder.

Collect small Oklahoma Oil Co.'s 1920's-1940's. Barnsdall, Cushing, Eason, Marland, etc.

Clyde Hodge has one like Ok's w/ a small CONOCO triangle sign & holder, mounted to a concrete riser @ entrance to his shop.

Wondering if above base has a way of permanent mounting to concrete ?
IF not, maybe a sign holder for daily special or open/closed sign that could be moved in/out of service bays.
