Here is a picture of a globe holder I took off a Dayton 14 Previsible. It is set up for a 4" not a 6" globe. Anyone ever seen a 4" globe before, or am I missing something on this pump. Thanks Richard

Richard, I know little of pumps and even less of globes, that being said. I received the Nov issue of PCM today and in the magazine they talk about globes with 4" bases. Not sure if this is what you are asking about? If so, it is on page 24 in the "Repro Alert". If not, sorry.

Thanks Bob that is what I'm looking for. Was wondering if they did in fact make a 4" base globe. My problem now is that I don't take PCM anymore. Will have to run down a copy. Thanks Richard

According to the original piece of Rapidayton literature I have on the Model 14 it states: "Lighting attachment, consisting of wiring and 12" globe with 4" fitter." A picture of the pump is at: http://www.petrolianacollectibles.com/lit-dayton.htmJack Sim

Jack thanks for the info. Now I know that this was original equipment for this pump. Next problem is finding a globe with 4" base. I think they will be out of my price range. Richard

Richard, Find someone with a metal lathe & make an adapter to 6". OR buy a round globe w/ 4" base @ Home Depot & paint something on it. GAS, Gator Gas, etc

What I probably will do is take a steel globe top adaptere and weld a strip around the bottom so it fits inside the globe adapter. Them make some brass resessed set screws and attach it to the original globe holder. The idea of making my own globe does sound interesting. Richard
