A friend of mine has this Sun cabinet in his body shop. It was left by one of the technicians that hasn't worked there in over a year.

Just wondering if anyone can tell the vintage of it? Are the decals available in reproduction in case I decide to have the cabinet restored?

Thank.

1970's for sure. We still had a few of these scopes when I started here in 1987 and I used them in classes brand new from 1971 - 1975. These cabinets were underneath these huge scope units. Latest and greatest at the time. Ted

Mid to late 1960's thru the early to mid seventies, It probably had a model 400 or earlier engine analyzer and scope. Had one for 5 yrs or so till I got an 1115 to replace it(which I still have) Knock on wood I've had good luck with Sun machines, bought low, sold a little higher. That decal goes back at least to the late 50's, I have a distributor machine with info sheets are 56-59. I'm using an Allen distributor machine and restoring to use an Allen starter/generator/alternator bench. Do you think there are others who restore old auto service stuff???? tt
