Maybe a moderator can help me understand why on some threads the screen gets so s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d out. Case in point being BOTW for this week. I can't get everything on the screen without constantly moving left to right just to read the posts.

I knew I'd regret asking this question. I'm completely aware that oversized pics can cause it. Not always does this appear to be the case. If you go to BOTW you will see that this is just one of those cases.

AS FAR AS I KNOW WHEN I USE A HOST LIKE IMAGE SHACK AND POST A PICTURE THAT I KNOW WOULD BE LARGER THAN WHAT GETS POSTED, I'M THINKING THAT THE SITE IS RESIZING THE IMAGE EVEN SMALLER THAN WHAT I ORIGINALLY HOST W/IMAGE SHACK. IN OTHER WORDS I RELIGIOUSLY MAKE MY IMAGES 12" WIDE @ 72DPI AND THE IMAGE GETS RESIZED AGAIN WITHIN THE POST SMALLER AT 10" WIDE @ 72DPI.

Dave I had that problem for a long time and blamed folks for there pic sizes. Jim, suggested I download mozilla and stop using internet explorer. I did that and I have to say things are the way they are supposed to be now. I refuse to use internet explorer now. I do have both on my computer because my wife prefers it. Give it a try and let us know what you think.

I HAVE A MAC AND IT NO LONGER SUPPORTS THE I/E BROWSER. I NOW USE SAFARI AND THEN MOZILLA/FIREFOX AS A BACK UP. I PREFER SAFARI.

i always resize my pics on image shack, but i noticed it did it on my daily post.i though maybe it was just the position of the pic in relation to the text.now that i have read this i do remember that i had set the pic quality on my camera higher.so does that mean imageshack does a halfast job?

Shop Talk automatically scales down the display of images to no more than 640 pixels wide. This should display well in any browser on any monitor. It should eliminate horizontal scrolling on all but the smallest monitor and lowest resolution. Today that means only hand held devices or a few antique computers. As a courtesy to members in rural areas not on broadband or with older, smaller monitors, I ask that posted images be no larger than 640 x 480 and 100k. The image jkyocom posted in this topic was actually 5104 x 7016 and over 4000k. However, you control the ability to over-ride the display of images. If you have used the browser + trick to enlarge images, your browser may not want to go back to normal later. If you are using Internet Explorer - Click on "Tools" on the top menu bar Choose "Internet Options" Click on the "Advanced" tab on the upper right of the Internet Options box Look for "Reset Internet Explorer settings" and click the button "Reset" This will lose your special settings and start you over fresh like a new installation. Hopefully, that should get you back to normal image display as well. I do recommend the Firefox or Safari browsers instead of Internet Explorer for their higher security and user friendly features. Firefox download http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.htmlSafari for PC and Mac http://www.apple.com/safari/

Well I appreciate all the ideas and possible solutions. I'm interested in trying out one of the other browsers.
