Is that all one sign, or was the bottom strip added?

Gum dipped tires were in there hey day in 1930s, If it was a "Ford sign" I would think Ford would in script for that era, sometime in 50's they got away from the old script.

This is all one sign the strip of angle on the bottom is made into the frame so I am sure it was not added. I checked the building the sign came from and it is the old ford dealership but the signs are idenical porcelain so I do not understand the ford not in script.

It is surprising to see Ford in non-script, Ford and Firestone had a long working relationship, Harvey Firestone died in 1938 so maybe there was a riff between the companies?

...that sign's older than 1938...I have a couple of cans of oil for Ford, and they aren't in script - it's a Firestone sign, not a Ford sign, per se...it's more likely that there were just different strip signs that were used, depending on the situation...even more likely that they would have had a privilege panel with the dealer's name...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Also seems odd that the Ford is with quotation marks,,Regardless, a very nice sign
