Thought you guys might like to see an auction this weekend in Montana. No proxy, no internet, no credit cards. A nice neon chevrolet sign. Not sure if I will be there. If I do, i will take the camera. http://www.frontrangeauctions.com/

Minuteman is correct. I went to an oil and gas auction in a town east of Havre that is very small. Items went for a ton of money, because they wanted something from that guys station as a memory. A wayne 505 pump went for over $1,000. Not restored, no globe. Are you going to the Havre one mm??

The auctionner is starting to put prices of what things sold for. I also made a list and may post some pictures when I get a chance. The OK Chevy sign (box) went for $7,000

There was some discussion at the auction as to what was under there. They thought it was made in the 50s. The guy who bought it is giving back to the grandson of the guy who originally owned it. if I understood it correctly, the store is still in operation in Cut Bank, MT and the grandsin is running it. I asked the guy who bought it if he knows what brand of gas they had at the station over the years. He wasn't sure. We thought it might have been a Chevron or Standard Oil sign that was then turned upside down. It was a tin sign, single sided. The guy bought it from the station years back for $20 and it was gong back at $400, I think.

I bought the two Texaco banners and a couple of smalls.
The milk glass Chevrolet didn't sell...no bidders at all. Unfortunately, they took the marbles out of it and repainted it and put lexicon behind the holes. Didn't have the same appeal. If I can ever get caught up I will post some pictures.
