The Mecum muscle car auction taking place now in Indiannapolis is televised on HDTV. 300 neon signs will be auctioned tonight at 7:30. That's what the announcers say. I don't know if it will be televised, but it sure would be cool if it was. I've never seen any of this stuff auctioned on TV. I'm going to tune in just in case. I'm not sure what time zone the announced "7:30" is either.

Gary, Pretty sure there on Eastern time. I watch some of the cars go through Friday. My dad wishes he had went as some of the cars went cheap!
Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

Sorry about posting the wrong channel. It's HDTH (HD Theatre). Checking the schedule, Mecums is televised way past the 7:30 sign auction time slot, so we may get lucky!

What a disappointment!!! No sign auction on TV but a rerun of the car auction earlier that day. We must be the Rodney Dangerfields....No respect. LOL

You could watch the sign auction through Mecum's website via a live feed. It was pretty good. It ran LATE. Prices seemed very strong as did the car prices yesterday. There was some rare stuff and the prices reflected this. A huge Chevrolet neon lot 147, I am guessing from the 50's, that Chevrolet script style like 44 feet long sold for upwards of 40K and a old Chevy dealer clock lot 160 also went for around 30K Most went in the 6-10K range. The Frontier went high as well. http://www.mecum.com/auctions/consignmen...day=MemorabiliaThere's a link. I can't see the results yet, but you can click on the pics for more details.

100 for the southern ice neon sign! Now that is a bargain! The signal at 650 would be next!
