Matt,
I used a spring out of a Bowser 575, not sure if anyone makes them now. Finding an original may be tough.

Thanks for the response guys. I don't really need an original spring just something close. Any thoughts? Thanks, Matt

The original spring is round with one end being approx 1 1/2" in diameter and the other end approx 5/8" in diameter. The length is approx 2". The diameter should match the inner glass and the small end should match a notch on the under side of the visi lid.
Hope this helps.

I just wanted to publicly say Thank You to Dick Bennett for going out of his way to send a useful spring to someone he has never met. Thanks again D.B. Matt
