The three high bidders on this sign live within a 100 hundred mile radius from each other. It makes one wonder why no one else was bidding at this level - after all if it is an original, possibly a unique sign, one would think that some of the prestigious high end collectors would have been all over this sign.

I understand that the winning buyer is now skeptical of the originality of the sign. Does anyone have an interesting comment or observation - how about you DB?

Well unless you're logging people's feedback how do you know they live near each other ?

Study the bidding process, winning bidder put a snipe in with 6 seconds to go... What is there to get ??? Nobody knew about the snipe... Second place put his bid in a day before.

After awhile you can break down ebay's member ID coding system in conjunction with the number of feedbacks a member has aquired. And, I'm one of the three!

The three bidding from the same area is not of a big concern. The question is - did Cities Service collectors not bid on this sign because they doubted the originality and if the sign is authentic isn't $2125 for a possibly unique sign low?

I don't know this sign but with the doubt in a lot of peoples minds about which way the economy is headed it seems like if you've got some cash its not a bad time to get some deals. Now I dont want to start a big controversy here but in my opinion even though the sign is in great shape and assuming its right, its somewhat plain-(not to a Cities collector probably)two colors. Not graphic. It is die cut... Just a nice sign to most of the rest of us sign people.(IMO) If no one ever saw one before and with the impersonality of ebay, a smart buyer should be a bit apprehensive. Didn't the factory put the grommets in? Seems like the holes are kinda small to fit a grommet and a screw... Oh well time to get off my soap box. Have a good one and just think-now you can spend that money on something your sure of. Jim

A 15 inch, single sided, plain sign eclipsing $2,000.00 in this ecoomy? Looks pretty stong to me.
