Love that barn too. How old is it?
I have 100+ year old barnbds on one wall of my mancave, so I won't be covering that up.
I'm hanging mine inside because my signs don't look good on vinyl siding.lol laugh

Hey guys,
lets see how you display your big (5'x6',2'x12',5'x5')signs.
I have a few and was wondering how to display them.
Wall or ceiling? Do I light them or not?
What did you do?
Thanx,
mike

This is the Only Big sign I have, I really like them but the Fact that they take up so much room keeps me from buying more of them. Now I just buy Pump Plate Signs because they are 12" X 12", 12" X 18" so I can buy alot more stuff. grin

I have see were people put Florecent Light fixtures on the wall behind the plastic signs so they can be lighted, personally with that type of sign that is what I would do. It would look impressive with all those big signs all lit up.

GREAT SIGNS guys,
I love the neons, but I guess I'll have to stay with the florecent tubes cause that would be the only thing payed for with my signs.
You guys have great ideas! Christmas lights look very good.
Thanx for your help,

you did just fine on the pics. GREAT SIGN.... does it lite up? and how in the world are you gonna hang it?(crane) laugh
I just picked up another sign this weekend that has the "ok" used cars but its plastic on a wavy white back bd. It use to be mounted here about 45 years ago before the cloverleaf came thru, but at least i know the history of it.

Folks,
Thought I would post some sketches for the bracket I built for the Shell sign just in case someone here needs some ideas for hanging their sign(s). Works great for a double sided sign that needs to hang flat on the wall.
Ed

Close up of finished bracket. Ignore the cobb webs, at 14 feet up I don't dust often.

Hey Norm,

We'll be coming back through your neck of the woods this Christmas on the way to MI. I'd be happy to get that Gulf sign out of your way. It'd look a _LOT_ better in front of my garage.

Best to you and the Missus,

Hanging from the ceiling is a good idea Mike. Looks good. I would have the big Chevron outside but Michelle thinks that would be too much. Oh, and everybody needs a matching pricer sign.

I like ALL of the large signs. JC327 you have GOOD taste in cars and have all 5 years covered. I remember the days when 55 - 57 Chevys were the cars everyone was looking for and no one would sell but 58 chevys were free just to get them out of their yard. Keep the large sign pictures coming guys

Rick - this way I can keep my eyes on it - over there it would be in somebody else'e yard - I also have a semaphore for the caboose but it hid away also.

As for the crossing sign - it does light up and the bell does ring but only when I hit the switch.

That would be SOOO COOL to have that RR sign flash when the garage door goes up and down along with one of those warning bells!

Hey Jerry....I think you just live a few doors down from my brother. I met you last year when came out to Sea Bash. How have you been?

We were out there in September to watch Ichiro hit a two run homer in the bottom of the 9th to beat the Yankees. I wanted to bring my wife down to meet your wife to show her that gas pumps look great upstairs and how to decorate a house with oil and gas. Next time out we will stop by.

MY HELPERS WERE A COUPLE OF MILK CRATES! AND THEY ARE MOUNTED IN A MANNER THAT THE BACK OF THE SIGN IS NOT FLAT (TOUCHING) AGAINST THE SHED.
I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOUNTING OF A HEAVY D/S PORC SUNOCO DIAMOND SIGN THAT IS 4X6' OVER A DIFFERENT SHEDS DOORS. GONNA NEED A LADDER FOR THAT ONE!
