RECENTLY SAW A STANDARD OIL GLOBE ON EBAY WITH A 7 INCH BASE, DID ANY OTHER COMPANIES USE GLOBES WITH THIS SIZE BASE? I HAVE A G/B 86 WITH 7 INCH MTG RING, ANY REPO GLOBES AVAILABLE? THANKS BOBBY D.

You probably are refering to the Standard Oil of Kentucky 16 1/2 inch globe that I recently listed. I recently purchased a Sohio 7" base that looked like it was an original body to the globe. Also your pump probably took a Standard Oil of Indiana Crown. They are 7". I don't know of any repos that are 7". The 7" globe holders are hard to find. They usually cost more than the 6". I also have two early one piece globes, both of which have 7" bases. One just reads "gasoline" the other is a Kentucky Crown. There are probably others too. Rex
