Since I have had no luck finding an original, my question now is: Has anyone had any experience with a repro? Do they need any work (sanding, drilling & tapping, etc.) or are they ready to go? Thanks for your help.

My experience is this:
I bought the 36B face frame (outer casting frame) from GPH several years ago. They fit and they are nice!!...However where the stainless tokheim name plate fits---the repro has the Tokheim cast into it with the ribs. In order to use the stainless plates I had to have the casting milled off. They are too thick at that area to just drill and attach.
No complaints, they are nice. And at the time I got the milling done for free.
You should be able to find some if you can be patient.
