I thought only the G&B 86 had inspection doors below the bezel? My 87 has no inspection doors below the bezel. I was always told that's how you could tell 86 doors from 87 doors. No need for the doors on a clock pump. I've seen people weld in plates on the 86 doors to make them look like 87 doors when finished.

I realize that but I think your doors have been swapped out sometime over the years with 86 doors. This is not un-common. The 87's never had the inspection doors, no need for them. I would weld in a patch to get rid of the opening and once the body work is done no one will know. I can post a pic. of my 87 doors w/o openings if needed.

Mike is right 87's did not have inspection doors but you can make them out of sheet metal and get the clips for the 36B tokheim from gas pump heaven and make a nice copy. I think I have one to go buy if you need the measurements

For what it's worth, the GB 87 AR parts breakdown DOES show the pump as having two "Inspection" doors...

Thanks Ron, I have 2 G&B 87 clockfaces and 3 86's, the 2 87's are at least 12" shorter than the 86's, and the one 87 with doors has the 2 inspection doors.

Well, I've never seen a shorter 87. Sounds like you have 2 that have been cut down for some reason. I have had 86's and 87's and they are identical in height and width. It is possible to see 87's with the inspection doors since the pumps were made at the same time as the 86's. I guess G&B used which ever door was being run at the time. I will post a pic. of my 87 w/o inspection door. If you will look at an 87 though you will see that there would have been no use whatsoever for an inspection door below the face.

Here's my 87 with No inspection doors. For what it's worth I also just missed another 87 that a local picker found. He sold it a few hours before I got there but I did look at it. It had No inspection doors either.
