I heard from 2 sources that Dominic Idoni and a fellow traveler are on the West Coast (S. Calif.) trying to peddle a trailer full of neon, porcelain, gas and oil signs.
Apparently their reputation preceeded them and they have had virtually no luck selling anything They travelled from Baltimore, MD. and had planned to skin a fat hog with west coast buyers.
Apparently many of the signs are of 'questionable origins' and buyers are staying clear.

Ralph,
It doesn't take long for someone with a reputation like his to spread in a small hooby like ours. How many guys do you collect gas and oil? 5000-6000 maybe?

Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

I do not want to see any of our fellow hobbyists get burned by him.

Very, very clever, very persuasive and absolutely no conscience.

Thanks

Ralph, do you mean questionable as far as them being fake or hot? Just curious. Thanks--

Not sure. I just heard first from a first hand source that they looked 'questionable".

I was fortunate in my outcome with him. I just wanted to prevent anyone else from becoming a potential victim.

He preys on this hobby and hopes to victimize 'new collectors' who are not aware of his reputation.

WOW, I was going to give my opinion but thought I'd keep quite, Good Job Dick Bennett. I believe I have a picture of him when he set up at MASS GAS a few years back, I will look tonight and see if I can find it, Rick

Just heard he was at the Jim Fox auction in ILL. today. He bought the 2 stained glass FORD signs.
Also he is sporting a devil pointed beard.

He was at the auction today with a brother or cousin. His cousin purchase two pieces and used a good credit card to pay. He was on his way to Kansas City to sell a Corvette.
