I was noticeing how everything is faded, but the GILMORE decals/printing is still readable !
I emailed seller asking if he GUARANTEED ANY of his GILMORE ITEMS to be ORIGINAL GILMORE OIL COMPANY ITEMS or are they madeup FANTSY ITEMS ?

This is the reply I received ;
"The items I am listing are authentic items. My father-in-law had a large collection. Thank you for looking."

Looks like a "made up" piece to me. Look at the numbers on the thermometer. Totally different script. Gilmore would never have used that. Buyer beware.

Isn't that for a traffic signal pedestrian x-ing?

It took a bit, but I'm familiar with this guy. His father used to sell at some So. Calif. swap meets prior to his death. He had some Gilmore decals, I believe they were originals, and he stuck them on everything he could passing them off as original. My wife even bought a couple of old gallon cans with the Gilmore decals on them, as a gift for me. I didn't then, and still don't have the heart to tell her the truth about them. I just knew it was from her heart. So, I guess now the son has taken over his dads business! He knows better, he's not stupid. Apparently just playing dumb.
