...the livery might be a little late for the model of pump, but I'd leave it alone...it's nice like it is...

...one of the definitions of 'livery' from the Merriam-Webster online dictionary:

"an identifying design (as on a vehicle) that designates ownership"

Gulfiend, Not sure why the livery is a little late for the pump. The pump could have been built in '35 or '36 if I read Jack's book right. Atlantic Premium sold in '41. A 6 year old pump. The pumps we used,at the station I worked at as a kid, were much older than 6 years. The trimline, I picked up, was in use for over 20 years. Each new owner of the small store repainted the pump each time they found a new distributor. Great looking pump, tho. Think they would knock off a 'thou, if I went and picked it up, you know to help pay for the gas.lol

...no sweat, Larry - just a fancy word I picked up from one of the books, or websites...who knows?

...Bob, I was under the impression that Atlantic Premium was later on (1950's)...I thought they were Hi-Arc and White Flash until at least the late 1940's, as I seem to recall THOSE signs are dated 1948 (I.R. 48)...they wouldn't have sold Hi-Arc and Atlantic Premium at the same time...and, no - they're probably selling the pump to raise gas money!

...Bill Fortune, you got your ears on? I know you've got to have those Atlantic Hi-Arc and White Flash pump signs ...can you lend a little insight (and maybe a pic)?

I have the Atlantic Hi Arc and White Flash pump signs both dated 1949. Refering to the Oil Company Signs Book by Benjamin and Henderson, White Flash and Hi Arc signs were used until 1953. The Atlantic Premium sign was used from 1953 thru 1957.

Thanks for the info on the Atlantic Premium, you are right about the age of the pump vs brand. 18 years would be a long time if the station were any size at all. Not my night for info, thanks for setting me straight.
