Isn't this one of the extra cheap tin signs that has been aged? http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-MOBIL-OIL-M...1QQcmdZViewItem

I emailed the seller, he just said "Oh really! I bought it from a well respected auction in Atlanta". Doesn't sound like he's gonna pull it. Besides, I though it came from the quaint little station in Massachussetts. He's probably the one faking these signs.

...he has at least five signs listed that are grossly misrepresented as being old...they are repros/fantasy pieces made by Desperate Signs, etc., in the 1980's and 1990's...

...I sent a report to ebay, we'll see if they actually do anything about it...

I noticed he added a disclaimer of sorts late this evening....now he's got a way to claim the buyer was warned it "might" be a fake!!

The real question is, did he contact the high bidder with the news that it is a repro? Ofcourse I'm sure the answer is NO. I liked the part about it hanging on a station and then changing it to, was bought at an auction sale and not sure if it is real. After looking at his other signs, this guy should buy a lottery ticket. He can find a pristeen Phillips sign at a old station that no one who was there before him was able to find.

Guys,

See my post on here called "He's at it again". I had NO responses to my post.

This is the fourth or fifth post on here dealing with this seller.

This seller knows he is selling repos. I called him on the Ithaca Gun signs and his response was "PROVE IT FOOL" I proved it to him and never heard another word.

I emailed all the people who bidded on the signs as I hope all of you do. I got several thank you's.

If you look at his other auctions he is selling repops and has been all over the US getting these signs according to him. Quite the traveler.

I am going to report him to ebay. I hope all of you do the same. Please take some action.

Thanks.

Always looking for Ithaca Gun and Lucky Sam soda items!!!

I too contacted the seller with no answer to my question on the signs he is selling. How does one contact ebay on this type of subject? I see that you can contact them if you have purchased an item, but haven't seen where you can tell them about fraud if you didn't win the auction. I tried to contact a couple of buyers and got a little note from ebay telling me that I shouldn't try to contact a buyer unless I was the seller of the product.

If you contact a seller with a question about a sign or something they are selling with no responce I think you would smell something fishy. I would hate to be the person that bought a sign thinking it was a original then get a cheap thin piece of worthless junk

...same dumb*** dealer, same scam, different item:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140001613175

...I e-mailed the high bidder, and listed two current Buy-It-Now auctions for the same repro sign, and wished him luck...
