This Carter Extra globe would also have been used in the '46-'62 era. This globe was sold at the GPM auction. Thanks to Aumann Auctions for the use of their picture. Too bad the blue capco spent so many years in the sun. Its really deteriorated.

These Jo-Re-Co lenses were originally in an old style capco body. That would date the globe from 1932 or '33. When the globe book was written only glass bodied versions of this globe were known. At this point this is the only known example on capco. I put the lenses on this original orange ripple gill body. Its probably my best globe. Thanks to John Jarvis for the lead on this globe. Don't ask. It isn't for sale! LOL Bob

Here are two nice Esso globes. Note the Esso dealer light. The Esso is etched into the light. This is the only one that we have seen to date? Here are two beautiful globes. The Flashlike is from Humble and, of course, the other one is Standard. I prefer the low profile globe bodies. Rex. [This message has been edited by rext@worldnet.att.net (edited 08-17-2003).]

"Esso", 33 or 34-72; "Essolene", 33-39;both obviously from Standard N.J.
I've never seen an Esso light globe like that. It's pretty cool. Anyone have any info on it?
The Humble "Flashlike Ethyl" dates from the late 20's to the early 30's. It has alot going for it. The Ethyl burst, speed lines, and lightning bolt. What a great globe!
The "Standard" was used in the '24-'33 era. Standard of N.J. used this bar and circle logo on several versions of their globes.
Thanks for sharing these great globes Rex. Who else has some Esso and affiliates globes they can share? Bob

Here is my Pratts High Test globe, (anglo american oil company). The name Pratts was replaced by Esso here in Britain in the mid 30's. Cleveland petrol was based in the North East of England, it was purchased by anglo american oil company in the 30's. Cleveland disappeared in Britain in the early 70's replaced by the Esso brand.

Gary, Thanks for posting the pictures and info about your globes. I really like those odd shaped (not round) globes. Bob

I know since the globe book was published, a couple more Esso Marine globes have been discovered!
I would like to know what other "Marine" globes are known on 15" metal. I cannot think of another besides the Esso Marine and the Mobilgas Marine.
