Overall view of the station on the old Gilmore Family property.

The back side of the pumps. Also shows the neon on the canopy.

This is a closer view of the pumps.

This photo shows the lion sign above the office on the sides.

Interior of the office is clean. The lubesters have Gilmore decals, The batteries are great looking. An old roll top desk sits in the office with old soda bottles and magazines, just like the attendent left it when he went out to service his customer.

a better look at the wonderful batterys.

The air meter sitting beside the station.
Overall, a great place to droooool !
We should all have one of these in our back yards. Hope you enjoyed.

Ted, The Gilmore Station is located at 3rd and Fairfax inside the grounds of "Farmers Market". I found this link on the web that not only tells about farmers market, but some interesting history on the Gilmore family. Including the sponsoring of race cars, a base ball team, and a little about their first "self serve" gas stations the "Gas-a-terias". http://www.farmersmarketla.com/history.html

Doc, thanks for posting those pics. Sure do like the paint job on those pumps. I was wondering if the red would look appropriate with the blu-green globe. Now I know. Think I'll do my 36B that way.
Thanks again,
Rod
