Here are a couple of neat old block garages in central Illinois:





These stations look to still be in pretty good shape.

Bob (Lastgas15) showed us these two neat cottages up in Kankakee during Peotone:

Along one of the oldest stretches of highway in Illinois...




I wonder if this may have been some kind of truck stop? One of only a few 2-story stations I've come across, and very differently built compared to the others I've seen. It looks like someone uses it for junk storage - what a shame!

This is outside of Coburg Or. I believe it to be a contrived display, but pretty neat nonetheless.

Thermactor, from what I can determine the "Tan" colored station was probably a Philligs Oil station . The Truck stop is rare also. Wayne Henderson is probably the man on this but there is a similar station here in Richmond Va. on #1 or Jeff Davis Hwy. near the Model Tobacco bldg. Meanwhile in Ashland Va., north of us there is a Texaco Truck stop that was built in the late 1930's with "Glass" brick. Somehow , the Hanover county Historical society was able to keep the building from being torn down . Ed Shaver

Found this rural station on a back road in mid-Michigan. I don't know anything about its history, but from the color scheme on the pump I'd guess it may have been a Pure station?? I have more pictures of this location if anyone is interested I can post them up.

This one is in a tiny ghost town in Michigan's "thumb" area. Looks to have been a general store. Again I have several more pictures of this station if anyone wants to see them let me know.

hey scott i for one would love to see more pics of both of those stations.also that 2 story station is just too cool.that would make a nice shop!

Very cool pictures Scott, post some more pictures if you can. I found this old station in a small town in Missouri on a recent road trip.

I also found this Wayne 70 on the same trip. The old boy was still using it on the farm and he put it into action for me and filled his tractor...pretty cool.

This place is a virtual time capsule. These are a couple of vintage signs that were on the building:

Thanks for the compliments, I wish I knew more about the history of this building. I will post some more pictures of the other station later on tonight.

THAT GENERAL STORE IS VERY AESTHETICALLY PLEASING TO THE EYE! AMAZING THAT THE PUMP IS STILL THERE AFTER ALL THIS TIME. LIKE A DEGRADING TIME CAPSULE.
