Lettering seems kind of sloppy.

Easy Tom,-- Its just that anyone with real time knowledge is getting extremely fed up with all of the reproductions that seem to come out of the woodwork! They tend to forget that other collectors don't have the knowledge base they are accustomed to, even though we all have access to the same internet.
These d**m reproductions have really become a thorn in the side and all of us react differently. Don't take the printed word too seriously, and just be thankful that there are still collectors out there that know the difference. One day it might be tough to find anyone that knows the difference?

It's an Australian oil rack sign. Tom pick something, anything about the sign and it's wrong I'll bet. That is how bad this one is.

LOL...Last time I heard that one I was in grade two...I guess some never grow up.....
Head full of "superior" knowledge, but couldn't spew out an intelligent conversation if their life depended on it...

Is this really what OG is all about for the newer collectors??...I totally respect the knowledge here, but respect is a two way street....You give none...you get none.!!

sign already sold once!!!!
do your own homework first as the red flags would have answered your own question and KEPT YOU from calling people smartasses!
(Example: the crude lettering, check his completed items, check feedback, look for similar signs from suspect sellers etc etc)
The gargoyle sign is also a repo...another red flag!
Guy is from canada like you??? and not india as usual???

Fellas!--This is not Facebook, and if you have derogatory comments about other members that you wish to express, please do it via PM's.
It serves no purpose to publicily display comments like that on what started out as a question on the authenticity of a Texaco sign? Comments like that, only reflect on the person making them, and do not contribute to the general purpose of this website.
Lets stick to the merits of the sign in question and try to figure out where it came from? If its not an India repop, is some local to the US making these forgeries?
