I bought an old bias ply tire with a round "tire sale" sign made to go inside the tire. The brand on the tire is "Hood Tire". I tried to gather a little history on the Hood Tire Company online but there's not a whole lot. I know that they began in 1896, were bought by B.F. Goodrich in 1929, and the tire division was moved to Ohio. What I would like to know is what year the tire division shut down. From what I've been able to tell from loosely related info. I think the tire division stopped producing tires sometime in the late '50's and the shoe sole division shut down in '69. Anyone have any info. on this?
