What is the best way to have a pump shipped ? I've seen uship.com mentioned a couple times. What does everybody use or recommend ? It's getting hard to find pumps local anymore. Thanks in advance.

2 6 foot tall 1940s Bowsers, WITH GUTZ, totaled out at 880lbs and shipped from Spokane to Houston, TX. for less than $480 with the buyer picking them up at the closest location to him. They got it there in less than 3 days and they always take great care of these items! Pilot Freight- I call Brian or Jeremy in Spokane at 509-455-7070. They do station to station or to your door. Straps were put on the pumps before shipping also.

North American Van Lines as a group that does it. Don't think they need to be on a pallet either. I don't have their info handy....it is a group inside of North American. I think they do door to door.

Beltman Group is a division of North American Van Lines. They will pick-up your pumps at your door and deliver to your destination, as long as accesable with a semi van. No wrapping or putting on a pallet, they will blanket wrap it and treat it as if they were moving a Refrigerator. 1-800-959-880 or 888-662-6261. Ed. www.beltmannlogistics.com

We shipped 3 Gilbarco 96s from east TN to northern Maine by LandAir about 4 months ago. The tab was less than $200, but did require shipping from a loading dock location. Very easy to deal with and quick service

That name is not a familiar name to me at NAVL. Did the name change??

This is the worst shipping situation I have seen for a pump, the first bump in the road and there goes a few more creases, North American Van Lines has picked up from me and they always wrap it top to bottom and stand it up and strap it to the side like a refrigerator.

Really? With all your time in the hobby your claiming, "this is the worst shipping situation I have seen for a pump",,,,??? sounds like your laying it on kinda thick there but everyone is allowed to have their own opinion.
The person picked them up and called me to let me know how happy they were and that they arrived in GREAT shape!
If these were restored or in nice original shape, I would've done a VERY different process than this for shipping them if the new owner wants that. The new owner did not want that process for these. They wanted them there quickly, undamaged and for a reasonable rate.
From what everyone is saying, it looks like NAVL is a good one to check into when shipping these besties and it's great to see the stories!

I have friends that Crated visibles & 6'rs, only to have shipping companies Destroy the pumps w/ forklifts stabbing the crates instead of picking them up. In haste of moving crates around, shipping accidents will & can happen, especially w/ forklift drivers.
Wrapping w/ blankets & moving like furniture, there is less chance of pumps being Damaged.

Hi Alex. Not a name change I am aware of. Although it has been a while since shipping a pump, that was the info I had. Same 1-800 number was in Chicago, couple different extensions, but also referred to as the Gaming Division. I guess they do a lot of work for Casinos. You also have the security of a large company like NAVL to stand behind any problems. Before I retired, my wife would open the garage door and NAVL would cart pumps into my garage and leave. Calls to both shipper and receiver the day before coming, and usually a couple hours "heads-up call" before arrival. I always found it interesting on pricing, the first and third pumps shipped would raise the price a lot. Second and fourth pumps were usually only a slight increase. So try to buy a 2nd or 4th pump from the seller, it rides almost free. Ed Steagall

I have shipped 5 through NAVL and yes they go thru the gaming division. As stated, they wrap and move like furniture, I also had great help from the purchaser in wrapping them also. I found that you can ship 3 for not much more than the price of one as Ed stated.
Thanks, Phil _________________________________________________ Looking for any old pumps, or nice 5 gallon cans.
