Tornado knocked down a shed here last night and I found this in the framework. Can anyone tell me what year this is, rarity, value?

my opinion:

is a side of a crate
black-T logo, 1930s?
Rarity = they're out there
Value: considering the logo is almost gone imo is minimal, $20

I agree. Its so rough, very few serious collectors would want it. One of Texaco`s main side products was roofing material, so I would say that you could find an intact crate fairly easily.

The crate is in one of the books.

I think it dates teens-30s.

Value is mainly wall hanger-novelty since it's only one piece of the the whole box, but still I would think $30-40 for someone into Gas/Oil if you put a hanger on it.

...I'm pretty sure it's not part of a crate - it was on top of a stack of shingles...there would have been one on the bottom of the stack as well (which may or many not have been imprinted) and the whole thing would have been strapped together...no need to fully crate shingles, as they aren't particularly fragile...

...your 'slat' is missing part of the bottom edge...

...I've seen them with National Recovery Act logos, too...they made several different versions...be interesting to see them all together...
