I recently bought several signs from a local guy here in LaPorte...
Then he pulled out this painted steel CONKEYS sign!!!
I took a picture of it because he wanted 1000 for it??? To me that was high BUT who am I???
Has anyone EVER seen this before???
Is it 20-30's???
Was there EVER a Conkeys service station?
I know you experts will know...
Thanks for your help in advance!
Tom

I would be CHICKEN to pay that for a sign I never heard of..

Probably a POULTRY sum to pay for a nice graphics sign that you are not likely to see in a lot of other collections!!

Conkey's was a "poultry remedy/first aid" company and their products were mostly sold in lumber yards and general stores.

If he's wanting $1000 fror it, I'd do more research on it. There is VERY little about Conkey's on the web.

Hi Tom--- We had a stack of five or so of these that I got about five years ago. Sold some on e-bay, some in a mall and one to a friend. We got around 200.00 apiece back then without too much hassle. I'm going to guess they are from the 50's. If you watch ebay they come up occasionally. Jim

He's fishin' REAL hard with extra bloody chum at $1000. There not that rare and are usually on eBay, east coast shows, flea markets, malls, quite a bit. But it is a PICTURE SIGN !!!!!! WOW !!!!!! Stop the world !!!!! I'd say $500 tops......
