Hi,

I have a 60" round lighted Mobil lexan sign. All of the bulbs are missing. Can anyone tell me the correct bulbs to use? I've included a sample picture of this type of sign and also a close-up of one end of the bulb sockets. I'm assuming these are fluorescent bulbs of some type.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Jeff

I don't know what they are called but any sign company around you that does field or shop maintenance will have them. They have a little plastic rectangular tip. not high wattage. probably will use 40-60 watt max cool white tubes.

Most likely the lamps are t12 fluorescent bulbs. Which are still being sold at Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware... And on the 'net...

But, know that they are not being made anymore...

The next question is; Are the lamps you are needing, single pin, nipple or dual pin? And also you are going to need a size...

I use Yahoo search, and typed in; t12 fluorescent bulbs and clicked on images and you will see the different "pin" configurations and should be able to tell which one you need...

Hope this helps...

These are the style you should need but just may not be the correct legnth. I just got some fo a lighted 66 sign I have. As far as I know there is no shortage of these available and my supplier has not told me they are no longer being made.

Thanks
Mike

Double recessed contact. High output (for cold weather starting). Measure for length, that will indicate wattage. Need a ballast for same.

High output is correct, any good lighting supply shop should be able to get the bulbs you need. Tri-State in Winchester Va has supplied all of the bulbs that I have needed, now they go by Hagemeyer-TriState. They may have a store in Manassas. Good luck! Brady

The ballast will probably cost about $75 bucks. I think I have a spare one in the garage. I have several light up canopy signs.

Thanks everyone for the replies. The double recessed contact looks like the ticket based upon the sockets. These definitely will not accept the single or double pins found on standard fluorescent tubes.

Thanks Brady. If I end up needing a new ballast, I'll PM you.
