Great find!

My grandpa worked for Sinclair in Kiefer Oklahoma when they changes to ARCO he had to change out all the lease signs in his area. He was told to hire a backhoe and have them all buried in his area like any good employee he did. But that night after getting off work he and my gramma went out to the place they were buried and dug them up and hauled them to their house. I have 5 from wells he pumped and they are some of my prized pieces.

Robert,
This logo of the refinery was issued between the striped and the dino logo,I believe. Early 50's I would suppose.Any ideas out there?

Chad,
I have heard similar accounts when leases were bought out around our county. When Union 76 bought out Pure Oil a ton of signage was destroyed.I know there is special meaning to most of us that have been able to rescue some of the past that was destined for the dumpster.

In the logo it looks like a jack-up rig on the lower left and I am not sure they were built in the 50's but I could be wrong. I'm thinking mid 60's. But whenever it was I would like to have one,the logo is just too cool.

Awesome Sinclair lease signs, I've always liked that logo and you don't see it often. Love the Skelly thermometer also!
