Tom,
I had these on my watched list and thought the bid was higher, so curiosity had me look again. 4 bid retractions......disappointment to your "boobs" answer?? I don't know.

Here are the retracted bids! corey and jim were ww2fanatics...
NOT sure why OsloSteve retracted his bid of 567.89....says he entered wrong amount BUT HOW DO YOU ENTER WRONG AMOUNT LIKE THAT!
Lovetodig4 is from sugerland texas! Hmmm another oldgas member!
smakoski is from michigan and also entered wrong amount? 388.88?
How do you enter that wrong also??? All 4 claimed to enter wrong amount?

My guess is that the retracted bids were fishing expeditions to try and discover the max bid of the previous high bidder. If their bid did not become the highest they would know the previous bid was higher still.
If it was then highest their bid would be lowered to the increment above the highest of the last bidder.
Now.....of what utility that information would be with time still left for bidding would be? I have no idea!
Just bid with your max and let it roll, huh?!

Man I am one naive puppy. I just can't spend the time to think up these games of bidding on eBay. I understand sniping but retracting bids, finding out what the reserve is, etc-too much effort, too much time.
That said, those are nice signs Tom.

I think they bid before reading the description and thought they were bidding on the lot instead of just one piece. I almost did then I read. Why put five signs in your pic if your only going to auction one.

Initially, I also made the same assumption. Although, it is clearly stated otherwise in your description.

Some people like to throw a bid out there to see where the highest bid is at....Then they retract their bid and set their auction sniper. They do this to find reserves also!
Itsasickness- I showed all the signs so people would look at my other items! It worked great Too smile I clearly stated auction was for 1 sign...I meant to make that the first sentence but forgot...lol
