Good morning all,
Headed out to the farms. I retired from the Univ 1 yr ago and working harder than when I was there but enjoy being out. We are running all three combines and 20 semis today. Looks like a mud-bowl shaping up. Had an inch and half rain the day before. We are drying corn so just have to be able to get thru the fields. We have 7,000 acres to go and heavy rains in the forecast for Tuesday and Wed. Hope on one hand we get a hard freeze for ground traction but for running the big Deeres with chisel plows and applying anhydrous not so good. Anyway got my flyer yesterday for ITS A GAS in January. Any of you ever been to it? All the years in this hobbby and never been there, thoughts? Have a safe day out there in old gas land! Rob

Good morning gang.

Sounds like a muddy mess!

I get to paint this morning, I cant wait... I had a customer drop off some commercial sign poles to be painted. They wanted it painted specifically with Sherwin Williams paint, which they brought. No big deal right?

Wrong.. The primer is so thick that a paint stick will stand straight up in the can, pretty much like body filler! So I had to get a special reducer (MEK) to cut it. Then after I finally get the primer on yesterday afternoon, I discover that the primer needs to sit for at least 3 hours before I can apply the first coat of color.

This is where it gets good. I get to apply the first coat of color today, it is a single stage water based product that is catalyzed. I have to wait 8 hours between coats, and it needs 2 coats!!!

Goofy... What it boils down to is that these stupid poles need to be taking up space in my booth for about 4 days before all the painting is done and they can be moved. This is how a paint booth makes money folks...LOL

Have a good day everybody!

FREEDOM oil items wanted.

Morning Oldgasers

Rob good luck with the weather, I wonder how many acres three can cover in a day.

Big race weekend at Nashville Fairgrounds tonight. 100 lap late model then 200 lap Southern All Stars. My sons friend didn't run open wheel last night. They dropped a rod Thursday at practice.
It looks like a bomb went off. It came out of the pan and was on the front streach. Glad that's not my department,he was really excited about running on the big weekend.

We had about 10 spooks last night. Half the houses around looked like they wasn't playing along. Nothing right about that!

HAGD-ALL!

Good Morning everyone,

Cooler and breezy today. Did a little work outside and now I'm off to my basement finishing project.

Ryan, it sounds like a nightmare scenario for your paint booth. What a bottleneck. I used to detest the delays that would hold up production. Hope all the steps go as well as possible.

Have a great Saturday in Oldgasland!

Good Saturday morn to all, can't fathom the process of combining that much anything. I have good friends in SD that do that and it always amazes me when they are running that much equipment and coordinate that many people. Here in the Ozarks a 1500 acre row crop is pretty sizable.

Sorry to hear your guys are out on the big show this weekend Loyd. But I don't see the problem, they had at least a day to fix the motor didn't they? Shoot, I remember blowing a motor once on a Friday night and working all night to get another one built in time to leave for a special race eight hours away on Saturday. That was back when youth and lack of common sense ruled the day! Sleep was always what you did only if you had time baçk in those days, fun fun fun....

Well, headin back to Columbia this afternoon for the Mizzou/Tennessee game. Hope we play better than last week...have a great weekend all..GB.

Well when my Prius shut down.. Oops wrong car.. 72 Nova small block 327 threw a piston...nah can't lie I drive a prius now and never have had a problem but that Nova I gave up on her. I am off to see a 50 Hudson pacemaker today, looks nice in pictures we'll see what reality looks like. Beautiful day here in St George Utah where we occasionally hang out. Weather due to turn as a cold front will bring lots of snow to the Wasatch mtns. All the skiers will be ecstatic. Fred

Yes remember those days, destroy it at bowling green Friday night-back at highland rim sat night. All this and work 12 hour shifts every other weekend. Think he had all his eggs in one basket fund wise.

BTW do you think you can get a 6' sign in that van either straight up&down or diagonally. I like the bigger signs but don't like transporting them with what I've got (read above note, LOL).
Bella is good company I would imagine.
