Depends on how you look at it. Just because its to high for you it's obviously not for someone else. If you are a flying a collector and this is the last globe you need to finish your collection is it to much? It wouldn't be for me. Most of us who have been collecting for a while have paid to much from time to time to fill our collections it's all a wash if you look at it from another angle. Lets say this guy paid $100 for three of his other flying a globes is he know paying to much?
Originals only for me. Always looking for Simpson oil, Super A, and MFA oil cans and globes.

Do you own More than 4 globes? Yes... And its 5 unbusted globes, 2 busted globes, and 8 busted singles. 5 are in bodies, and the others are not on display because I don't know where to get gill bodies. Repro ones...

You can't get repro gill bodies except in repro ripple form and your giving values on globes

Ya it's a lot but it is a cool looking globe to have. Other than previous stated resons why would this globe go for this price, what is the "wow" factor for this globe. If I had the $ I would bid

This sure is a nice looking piece!!
I don't know about actual value. But it seems from what you hear from the vets in the hobby, everything is costing more these days. Heck, just in the 15 or so months I've been following this hobby, it seems any nice pieces are up aywhere from 30-50%. And that is a very nice piece!!
Factor in a nice bidding war, and hoop!! There it is!!

It's not a globe that comes up for sale often. The bad part is that when it sells the next person is going to think there's is worth that price also. Looks like it might be time to part with some Flying A globes if I could make that kind of money on them. A diesel globe doesn't even bring that much. It is a nice piece.
