Also used in Drug, Paint, Grocery & Farm supply stores. Mineral Oil, Syrup/Honey/Molasses, Paint Thinners, etc. Volume of liquid sold dictated size of tank bought.
Small counter Tops used in Drug/Grocery stores were usually ALL Nickle Plated & tank covered w/ Oak Wood.

I have this exact lubester but mine has a hinged lid and a pipe screwed into the center that comes up just under the spout. Mine was used on a farm as a kerosene pump.
