What about the paper stuck to it (as if stacked together for a very long time)?

That's a repop.

Why are you so convinced by the paper? How hard is it to get brown packing paper to stick to a sign. Much easier then chipping and rusting repro porcelain signs.

Shell experts.
Is this a true "repop" of an original sign or a total "Fantasy" piece, never existed?

Many of treasurerays are total fantasy.
Fantasy pieces are an easier target for company lawyers to go after as a registered trademark violation, if you report them.
Report them to the company advertising department and let them take it from there. A one time piece for personal use they won't go after but mass producing them they might.

The sign in question is sitting on $416.00 with 7 hours to go.IF--it is an original i would think it would go for a lot more than that.

The one on ebay is painted tin and they are very well done. I can neither confirm the originality of it, or confirm that its a reproduction---BUT I do know that this came up a few years ago, and it was confirmed that there were several that were made and after that time, a lot of NOS ones seemed to turn up everywhere? Too bad because it sure casts a cloud over this particular sign??

OK, I just want to get right to the point here on the topic of this Shell Kerosene Flange Sign. It may be a real shock to many of you that the seller of eBay auction #380662776907 is a member here on old gas. The seller recently wrote an very well written open letter to the member's of old gas telling us how is would never sale a questionable sign. The seller of the Shell sign in question on eBay seller "Petrowacker". Petrowacker is from Elmwood Park, NJ. WOW, is that not the same city that Redhotrelics lives in? Wow, look at some of the photos from both sellers. Is that his twin brother? They must live on the same street. Check out Redhotrelics auction #281126532946 for the 1920's V3 Cola sign. Then take a look at Petrowackers auction #380658651971 for the Bloomfield Ave Sign. Same guy in the photo, and same yellow house in the background. The white house next to the yellow house in both auctions have the same green cone bush next to the house. I also noticed that Redhotrecics posted positive feedback as a buyer from one of the biggest repop sign makers in India "Stencilworks" on May 23, 2013. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
