Is there any way to tell the difference between the two? The reason I ask is because I want to punch the ID plate and want to make sure if possible to get the right model number .

The frame. Round tubing and square is the difference.

371 has a Pipe Frame & 541 has an Angle Iron Frame.
371 you have to UN-screw the doors to remove, 541 has Lift off doors like a 646.

There was also a round pipe frame 373 model. I had both a 371 and a 373.

You need a copy of my Gas Pump Identification book, if you had it in hand you would not have to be posting questions like this.

I have your book Mr Sims. I have studied it religiously. According to other members the only way to tell the difference is by the frame or the hinges. I can see neither in the pictures in your book. To me they look the same in the pictures in your book. Am I missing something ?
