I believe this in an American 2347 pump over 10 ft tall with the 8 sided body and the scalloped base, any help on the value would be appreciated. Thanks

Glass or Plastic cylinder?
Does it have Upper conduit & Wired for globe?
Is the Bonnet orig. or a replacement?

Should have a pipe coming thru hole in lower skin just above base w/ a 90 deg elbow then up approx 12" w/ a flip cap attached. End of day they would place nozzle into pipe & drain cylinder of any remaining gas. Nozzle would be locked there in open position.

On top of bonnet it will have embossing similar design to casting under cylinder.

Ask your wife/GF to check cylinder to see if it's glass!

Hey DB,
Original skins have a bead rolled into them at top and bottom, right?

...what does the Gas Pump price guide say about this pump?

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Yes.
Book price is in Un-restored complete including glass cyl.
$1800
Realistically $1200-1400 in today's economy.

Does that mean it would be worth more due to the restored condition it is in? And I do appreciate all the help you guys have provided so far.

For those researching, not all 8 sided octagon 2487 pumps came with a drain back tube. Just an FYI.

That is accurate, I agree. My buddy had one without.

I have one without. Never had it. It still has the original skins and there is no hole for a drain-back nor any piping for one. You can see them with and without in Jack's pump bible book.

Is there any difference in original skins other than the hole depending on wether or not there was a drain back?
