Why no black border on the one sigh? age?

agreed , think they were mass produced and quality control wasn't a major concern. so , no i don't think u have some rare signs. good old days products weren't always that great as we often fantasize that they were. look at the cars Detroit turned out for years before they were forced to move to quality control when they started losing market share from imports by the 1980's.

I have some like this in the larger sign and in my opinion they were made that way. The black boarder ones are a black ground coat with the white over printed made this way there is no way th make the white cover the black with screens made to leave the black boarder.

I have some also and they seem to be older ones. I agree they were made that way and kind of look cool. I am putting a pair on my Bennett 76 I am doing. If you notice, sometimes they do not have the black around the mounting holes either.

got a pump the other day and one of the contains lead signs has grometts in the holes?? first one ive seen this way. chris
