My old vendo 81 coke machine bulb won't stay on. It comes on full bright for a few seconds and then goes out completely. Should I get a bulb or ballast? Bulb is $8 and ballast is $35. Thanks for tips.

I would just change the bulb. It worked for me.

Is there a fluorescent starter in the line or fixture? Could be as simple as that.

I'll try changing the bulb, and before putting it all back together, test to make sure that was it.
