I don't remember this ever having been discussed.I'm wondering what you guys think about displaying duplicate pump plates when you are virtually sure they came from the same pump.

Around here some say "you only need one"while others value a same pump set more highly because they know the origin of the plates;what kind of pump they were on,where they were used, that sort of thing.

I ask the question because I display several same pump sets(Conoco green,Atlantic doors for a 60,Mobil studded and Red O,Red Crown and Shamrock Trailmaster)and am to the point I will have to take some down to make room for any more. All are in displayable condition.

Thank you for your thoughts.I'm leaning toward keeping them togather.

If I put two pump plates on a pump (I usually only put one on as the other side is to the wall) Then it is nice to have plates witih matching dates. But, as to if they came fromthe same pump...to me it is no big deal.

It's cool having the pair together....if you are running out of room, I still have plenty of space in my shop!! (hahaha)

I might personally keep the pair, but only display one on the wall in an effort to display more.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I agree. I would probably take them off the wall one at a time as I got something else to replace it with. If, after awhile, you decide you don't miss it as much as you thought, you can sell it then. But if it's just stored, you can always change your mind and put it back up.

If you have them hanging on Brad nails, you can layer them w/ best on display & worst behind. Easier to find when trading.

Both dated the same a plus to me. If doing a pump a plus , as it makes it more correct . If I'm doing pump, don't matter if it is against wall or in corner, I know whats on the unseen side. Its not complete without both. Nothing wrong with others views on this subject just my personel prefence.
I like DB Suggestion hang them behind each other. Trade them or sell them together. I am gathering up parts for Tok 39 project, and won't be pleased with it without matching sat.

Thanks for the input guys.I'm going along with Tara and Loyd so far.I took down a Shamrock Trailmaster and put it in storage to make room for a Shamrock Diesel(thanks Ric,it worked out just fine)and will keep the set togather.

Around here, since the set came from a pump here in ABQ,those things are hard to find in displayable condition.Maybe I'll trade them to someone to do a Shamrock pump. Many of us out here like the local origin.
