I recently turned up 3 vintage gas pump hoses in a clean-out. They are all pretty clean and pliable with no visible damage, splits or cracks. All are (I think) 11 feet long. One is covered in a woven cotton sleeve with no name, the other two are:
- Electric Hose & Rubber Co, DELMAR DB I-38 - Republic Rubber, Youngstown Ohio USA REPRENE
Based on other gas related stuff from this job, they should date between 1920's - 1930's.
I don't know if I'd pump gas through them, but they display nice. Is there a market for these, and do they have any value?
I can take some photos and post if there's any interest.

Here's pictures of the cloth-covered hose. It's 8 feet long, and the metal tag around it reads:
UNITED STATES RUBBER CO. - GIANT - REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. MADE IN USA 6-37
That's all for tonight. I will post the other two (hopefully) tomorrow, along with some brass nozzles.

Guys please back off on the PM's. I'm seeking information here and "possible" value. I guess I should have posted this in the "what's it worth" area.
If any of the three hoses go for sale here they will be posted in the appropriate sale forum.
I will post the other two hoses in the valuation area.
Meanwhile, does anyone know about the company that made the hose pictured, and does the "6-37" on the tag mean it was made in June of 1937?

Nobody has anything to contribute, other than "that is cool" or "how much do you want for it" ?
That's disappointing. I realize that everybody wants/needs something, but I thought information still got passed around here. You know, in the interest of the community.
I will sell all three hoses, plus all the other loot still lurking in the piles from this clean-out, but I put them up here first because I was hoping to learn something in the process, and my past experiences here were that this community prided itself on sharing information and educating members.
Now, it seems to be more about PM's and being first in line for a good deal. Sad.

You're kind of getting this wrong! Old gas hoses are VERY RARELY traded because of condition and previous use, so there is very, very little experience to draw from regarding valuation of these hoses. Secondly, your only picture was of the braided hose and that was the only object that aroused anyones curiosity! Good looking vintage braided hoses would be hard to find in any kind of usable condition and when you were looking for a value, it kindled some interest with the thought that you might be selling it! Any thought of a value on the other 2 was out the window because there were no pictures of those hoses and again, they are usually worthless. I can't begin to tell you how many I've thrown away or burned! This was a unique situation where it seemed that you were trying to find a value on an old hose that could have been very usable for an old pump that was left in "as found" condition---where a new hose would look out of place! It isn't as if the hose itself has a lot of historic or tradeable value, its just that you have an old hose that would be fairly usable for several of us that collect pumps. As far as value--there isn't anyone on here jumping to answer your question because they really don't know. Many times people take a lack of answers as indifference, when in truth, its just that noone has the answer. Hope this clarifies it for you and the best way to find the true value of your hose is to put it up for public auction here on Old Gas. Works very well with a desireable item!-----KEVIN
