It was a very good Christmas in Ohio. I was able to be home for a change. That only happened a handful of times during my 26 years with Uncle Sam.

My brother got a nice Skelly sign

My brothers and I got dad a pair or restrooms signs to go with his other sign. This is a three piece set, as seen on page 40 of the Sinclair Collectibles book. They are single sided porcelain. Hard to find in any condition, my brother found a nice pair.

Here is the third sign they go with

I got a BT-99 Browning trap gun, engraved, inlayed, choke tube and all!

DID ULTRAVIOLET MEAN THEY HAD UV LIGHTING IN THE RESTROOMS???...ANYBODY KNOW THE STORY BEHIND THE TERM USED: "ULTRAVIOLET RAY SANITIZED?"

I COULD SEE USE OF GERMICIDAL BULBS BEHIND A BAFFLE OVER A RESTROOM DOOR KEEPING THINGS SANITIZED, BUT ULTRAVIOLET? HMMM....???

TRUE, BUT WHEN I WORKED IN THE SCIENTIFIC LIGHTING BUSINESS THERE WAS A DISTICTION BETWEEN ULTRAVIOLET UV (THE PURPLE/VIOLET LIGHT THAT MAKES CERTAIN THINGS GLOW IN THE DARK) AND GERMICIDAL LIGHTING WHICH IS BASICALLY HARMFUL TO THE SKIN AND EYES. I WONDER WHY THEY JUST DIDN'T USE THE GERMICIDAL TERM? SOUNDS MORE AUTHENTIC TO THE SANITIZATION PROCESS IN RESTROOMS!??

I got a visit from my little grandson Jack and his parents.........the very best possible Christmas present I could ask for!!! He's still here and doesn't have to go back to Texas until Friday afternoon. We walked around the back yard with him holding my little finger, and showed him off to the neighbors. Can't get no better than that!!!!

Back to the UV thing. I seem to remember that there were UV sanitizing tubes for the seats in ladies rooms in department stores. The seat receded into a shallow cabinet and the lights came on.
They also used these in TB sanitariums years ago, probably while they herded the poor patients out into the sun. The bacteria are pretty resistant to sanitizers but die like Dracula when UV hits them.
I'd hope there were some sort of interlocks. You could get some nasty "sun" burns from germicidal lamps in the lab.
