(My first post). This is a 42” double-sided porcelain sign with ring. It’s being presented as an original sign. Does anyone know if Texaco made this style sign in this size? And if so, what would the value be.

thats the one in richmond auction this week... rare one, but i think you can bid with confidence as it is TAC authenticated and guaranteed by the auction company. also, it appears to have a maker mark at the bottom. in my opinion, i would guess it to be worth about the same as a 9 condition traditional 42" since it doesnt appeal as much to the eye, but is so rare to make up for that. no one can guess accurately until after saturday though smile

That’s it. Is it too rare to hang outside? I’m looking for a sign to hang outside of my grandfathers old gas station. He had a Texaco station for 30 years. I have the original 6’ sign but it’s in no condition to put up and the pole is gone anyway.

In my opinion, i would never hang a 9 condition sign outside. Especially one of that rarity. You can easily find a traditional 42" double sided Texaco in 8 condition for much cheaper... prolly around $3500.

I agree, I would be more concerned about it being stolen.
