(From Andy Klein) Anybody got a vacant lot that would provide a good home for this orphan building? Free to a Good Home This charming historic service station is being offered for free to anyone who has an appropriate available site and a creative vision for the adaptive reuse of an endangered building. Artist Studio? Coffee shop? Bakery? Bar? Garden shed? GARAGE?! Built in 1925, this little gem sits in the way of the proposed redevelopment of the King & High block that was featured on our 2019 Most Endangered Sites list. The developer will pay to move the building if a nearby site is found. This is a prime opportunity to recycle an entire building for a creative new purpose. It presents an opportunity to give the community a visible connection to the past while adding authentic visual character to a neighborhood. But action must be taken soon! If you are interested, we encourage you to go see the building today. Then, if you have an available site, email Susan Keeny, Preservation Director, at skeeny@columbuslandmarks.org or call us at 614-221-4508. Please hurry! Former Sunoco Gas Station

Sure hope somebody can step up and save it, too cool to let it go to the wrecking ball especially since a vintage photo documents it's history.

NOTE: This is a good deal for someone in the Columbus, OH area, since the company redeveloping that downtown block of property will pay to move the station to a near-by location (per the information in the first post). So.....a free nifty old station, with the cost of moving it paid by someone else. It wouldn't seem to get any better than that! John

If Oakland City, IN is close enough I have a spot and will take it. Always wanted an old gas station to use as a shop!
