Trying to get the lights working on my Bennett Model 3012. New bulbs, starters, and wiring up through the pump. The 2 light ballasts look like they need to be replaced, the one pictured is the better one of the 2.

Where would I find a replacement ballast that matches these? The ones at Menard's the guy said is correct for F18T8 bulb have too many wires (mine has 2) and doesn't match what I am replacing.

For electrical things out of the ordinary, I go to an electrical supply company.

A place electricans go to - not a Big Box store.

Take one or your original ballasts with you.

Later . . .

Check with any of the neon light shops in the area they should be able to help you out.

I'm guessing your pump has 2 bulbs? Then it had one ballast for each bulb? Possibly the ballast from Menards was for two bulbs? (Thus all the wires?)I'm not sure how old a 3012 pump is but I'm surprised it uses T8(smaller diameter) bulbs.

Yes, 2 bulbs. I am assuming T8s are the correct size as that is what was in there and they fit.

In doing some "Googling" I think the ones from Menards are electronic ballasts and I need the older magnetic ballasts that uses starters (FS-2). Not an electrician so looking to cut as few wires as possible. The other magnetic ballasts I have found on eBay, etc are much smaller than what is in my pump so I am not sure that they would work.

I am guessing my Bennett is early 60s? Square body but has a provision to add a globe.

Hi Jim, You are correct the pump is from the early 60's. I am working on a 3015 and when I contacted the Bennett company they told me mine was probably from 1967 based on the serial number. As far as lighting issues are concerned if I cant replace it wire by wire I am lost as I am not electrician either. I take mine to a local sign company. They know the application for the modern stuff and have never let me down. Meanwhile here is a link for a manual for your pump. I purchased none for mine from this same seller. John

Check out Robertson CC1320P ballast, its a 2 wire ballast that works with a F18T8.

Thanks for the diagram.

Mistyped earlier, the bulbs are F15T8 not F18T8 if that makes a difference.

No difference- that's a F15T8 in the pic. I would suggest doing a test mock up like in the pic using your original ballast, maybe your problem is in the old wiring/sockets.

Just ordered 4, I think my 1960s Coke machine would take the same ballast, then have one on hand just in case.
