Does anyone out there know how to fix computer that does not zero the 10 gal digit on reset on the dial opposite totalizers- it increments by 1 digit on reset. Not a big deal- other side zeroes correctly but if fix is simple I will do before putting pump back in service. Tx

In order for the wheels to reset to zero there is a spring loaded pawl inside each wheel that catches the shaft when cranked back to reset. That pawl is stuck and won't drop down to catch the groove in the shaft. You can sometimes get lucky and spray penetrating oil inside the wheel and spin the wheel and maybe it will free up. If that doesn't work then you have to take the wheel out which opens up another can of worms that cannot be simple explained. I have a Veeder Root service manual posted on my web site that will cover everything you need to know. However if you do not have a strong mechanical aptitude that thing will drive you nuts. Thank you soooo much Tom: I saw the two pawls on the side of the wheel- I guess one is the set and one the reset. I sprayed with kroil and pull against spring and released. Now free and resets properly! I just ran another wet test of 100 gals and everything seems right . Do you know if it is normal to always get fuel flow out of float overflow when you let go of trigger and before you shut off pump? I get a substantial amount every time. I will have to pipe it back to tank I guess.

Glad you got the wheel freed up. Your fuel overflow problem is common but I am not the guy to ask on that one. I don't work on the pumping mechanism. I'll bet you can Google the answer or hopefully someone on here can help.

Try asking Gas Pump Rob on this website (maybe send him a PM). He gets a lot of old pumps working and pumping gas. He may have the answer to your overflow problem.
Jack, that looks like a Gilbarco 904 or 906 to me.

Yes Jack It is a 906-7g... I am pumping #2 diesel thru it. It was an esso extra gas pump. I have not taken apart the float chamber to see what’s in it or if float is stuck but I’ve run a lot of fuel through it. I’ll see if gas pump rob can help. Tx

I don't think it is a 904/906, it appears to be a tall pump (hard to see) and the 904/906 are short pumps. Also, the pipe where the hose attaches to is near the top, my pictures show the hose in the middle of the side panel.

Hi again: Still looking for advise on reducing the vent pipe flow... I wrote to gaspump rob... Im guessing that flow might be caused by the pump relief setting? Jack How can I get a copy of service manual? Tx

Gaspump Rob tells me to just put a cap on the vent tube. he says the flow is caused by not having enough suction head- the pumps are designed to be sucking from underground tanks. Makes sense to me. On to final assembly! Tx
