Hi, Gang. This cast iron sign base came from the back store room of an old Texaco station here in central Wisconsin. I acquired it, along with two gas pump globes, about 35 years ago.

I don't know signage they use this base with. The pipe column is meant to be two-piece. Obviously, the second piece is no longer with the base. The heavy, decorative base is about 9-1/2" in diameter. The current pipe column is 21" high, up to the coupler where the second pipe would screw in.

This unit is very solid, but will need some clean up, depending on how you plan to use if. I'm sure you can let your imagination run with coming up with a neat way to use this vintage cast iron sign base.

I've priced this unit reasonably, so you'll have some room to pay for the additional shipping cost. That way, the delivered cost shouldn't get out of hand. The price is just $25, plus the cost of shipping. Thanks for looking. John

Hi, Tankar. That's a fun guess. I'm thinking the base diameter isn't big enough to handle coats....likely would be too "tippy". I thought it could have been from a "FREE AIR" sign....something the station people took in overnight, along with the air hose itself.

Plover is in the central part of Wisconsin, near Stevens Point, and about 30 miles south of Wausau. Thanks for checking in. John

Thanks for checking in, Loyd. Hopefully, we'll be able to do business again on this cast iron sign base! I'll PM you with an update in a few minutes. John
