I recently completed a restoration on my Clear Vision pump. I picked it up in rough shape at a farm auction in June just outside Camrose, Alberta. This was the first visible pump I’ve had the chance to work on. I have only restored computing pumps up until now. I found visible pumps to be simple in design yet complicated when it came to ensuring that everything was the correct height and orientation when I did the reassembly. I did quite a few test fits before coating anything and made sure to record my measurements. I’m glad I had the chance to work on one of these pumps and hope I can do another in the new year.

Hello Rob,
Thanks for sharing the photos of your Clearvision. You did an amazing job restoring it. I always have found it interesting that they used one large nut instead of cylinder rods on their pumps to hold the jar lid and cylinder. I have had a couple of these built for US and they were the same setup. It’s also interesting that they had holes in the jar lid for cylinder rods even though they in most cases just used the center nut.

Thanks guys here’s a before picture when I picked it up at auction. The auctioneer told me that the original cylinder had a bullet hole in it and when they went to move it out of storage it broke.
