Every year at Christmas I give my son some thing from my collection. In the past it has been a sign. This year I am considering a globe.I have had both of these for over 30 years,The Crown Silver came from an antique shop in Fort Bragg Ca.A long way from where that product was marketed. It is on a gill body.TheSkelly came from a closed station In Kirkman Iowa.(Keitha knows where that is!) Skelly is on a wide body.

I like the Crown Silver. If you are only giving one that would be a good one. I also like the Hull pottery, my mother has several of them.

I vote the Crown. It seems more ‘Christmas-y’.
Silver (and gold). Kings wear crowns. Looks like tinsel... lol (do they even make that stuff anymore?)
I always vote for the more Christmas themed one. I think last year I liked both signs, because one was red and one was green. Lol.
Have a Merry Christmas. I know your son will.

Hey Frank...you probably forgot that I was the baby boy you accidentally left on the doorstep of the service station in Kirkland, Iowa. I’ll take the Skelly. If you will go ahead and ship it to me I will let let bygones be bygones. Steve

I always enjoy the responses I get on "that time of year",thanks to all that posted.I am leaning towards the Crown Silver for the gift.
May have to do some DNA on Steve!

I always enjoy this thread every year. I get so jealous! I think last year or one year you have a beautiful Quaker State vertical sign.
If it was me, I would want the Skelly. I'm not a fan of that chrome look.
Steve Coppens Always interested in Sunoco items! Really want a Sunoco National pump ad glass!!

I agree on the Skelly--several in the area in Iowa where I lived many years ago--always liked the logo.
This is the Quaker State you were talking about--now my son has it.

Skelly and I'm not up for adoption I've suggested something of that sort for couple of years.I'm over it . I would be proud of either being a gift from Dad but you ask. Not a big fan of the crown. Have a great xmas.
