I am going to paint two of my Boyle Dayton Visible gas pumps. One as a Richfield and one as a union 76, both old ways of not seen much colors. Question is on both they came with no globe and a lot of Gilmore pumps came with no globes on stations with these pumps. I am going to sell at some point and with the globe on them makes them too high for the house but somewhat naked without the globe. Not sure I want to Jerry rig something for the globe connection seeing how they did not come with them.
THOUGHTS ??

They would look better with globes. Original globe/light units for these are rare. Gas Pump Heaven makes one that looks similar to the original.

Craig I have found several pumps in eastern Oregon where the station owners took a 615 top drilled the holes a little bigger and fitted them over the jar rods. Richard

I replaced one of the rods with the wire on the Seahawks pump I did.
Jerry mentioned about using a hollow rod and putting the wire through to the top that way.

I’m probably in the minority but I’ve always thought that Vizos look goofy when people rig up globes on them. I realize a few came with original globe/light setups but not very many. I prefer the original look.

An outside opinion:

You said " Not sure I want to Jerry rig something for the globe connection seeing how they did not come with them."

So don't. You obviously liked them without the globes. Paint them and enjoy!

You also said "with the globe on them makes them too high for the house".
So don't put a globe on them now. Enjoy them as they are or after they are painted the way you want.

I can't see the entire garage but from what I can see, they would look good positioned on either side of your cabinet on the left and let the globes on the top shelf be the focus for globes. IMO would be a nice display.

When you are ready to sell; deal with adding a globe at that time, if that's what buyers want/demand.

Oh, one more option....
You could cut a hole in the ceiling like this Texas Museum did in order to display their Texaco Pumps....🙄😂
