I had two original globes. I only seen one other one. And it was only one face plate and extremely faded and missing paint. How much is it selling for and where is it located? I took one of the faces to Iowa Gas a couple years ago and Lonnie Hop took a picture of it and it was in a PCM issue. I purchased Starved Rock Gas&Oil company in the 1970's. Found both globes in attic of home office. Company est.1918 and went with SkellyOil in the 1920's.This globe would have to be almost a 100 years old?? Mint?? No flaking or fading??? Letters and arrowhead are more purple on original . Not vivid red like picture.Dan

Thanks Dan, appreciate the info. You'd definitely be the one to know! Makes me feel better I walked on this one seeing you think the colors arent right especially. I'm always nervous about posting others prices, the seller didnt say it was authenticly old, just unknown "one-off", price was too high for a fantasy or repop, too low for an original globe. I guess its possible that its an original "first run", different color, put in a box and forgotten for 100 years, but it looks too nice.
